Long weekend is short holiday. Sailing by boat is a special experience and challenge too.

You can take advantage of our special geografic position and enjoy in several different destinations in north Adriatic sea, where three countries meet and offer wide variety of history, culture, architecture and so on.

We usually start our adventure in home port early in the day and after unpacking and short breefing head towards desidered destination. Depending on the weather conditions we arrive to the destionations some time in the afternoon. After docking the boat in the port we make a plan for the rest of the day, which usualy include activities of your choice and food, which could be prepared on the boat.

Next day we repeat the procedure and depending of the trip, head towards home port or our next destination.

We have pre-prepared some  suggestions for you, but of course we are eager to meet your needs and make a tailor made adventure for you.

Portopiccolo is an example of good practice on how to make an abandoned quarry a first-class attraction; otherwise an artificially made Mediterranean town, which is quite lively in the warm part of the year. It is interesting for sailors mainly because it has the possibility of mooring and because it is at the right distance from our starting point, so that we do not get too tired to the finish line and we can afford a walk to Devin Castle or visit the beach, swimming pool or one of the many bars, restaurants, galleries and shops by the harbour or higher in Sistiana on the same day.The route itself allows favorable sailing angles, but due to the openness, the navigation is slightly wavy in stronger winds. Due to crossing the inflow routes to the two largest ports in the northern Adriatic we often meet ocean cargo ships who instill some awe in us, even from a safe distance.

Visiting Grado, once a small fishing town, but today a popular tourist destination, is a real little adventure due to its otherness. It lies at the mouth of the river P, so on one side it is surrounded by a lagoon, and on the sea side it boasts sandy beaches. Due to the low depths of the sea this means some difficulties for sailors; adapting to nature and carefully planning the voyage, as the port is possible to enter only through a marked inflow channel at high enough tide and requires a good degree of concentration and constant checking the position on the voyage map. Some experience with knowledge of the situation in the channel are appreciated. That’s why the relief at a safe berth is so much greater. At low tide the boat may ‘kiss the bottom’ and tilt slightly if the amplitude of the tide is high. All this factors shape the schedule of this sailing trip.

As we cross the Adriatic Sea, conditions with constant winds can change. And with stronger winds from favorable directions we can talk about the first-class offshore sailing pleasures, which for many can be a small test of endurance.

Venice does not need to be described in particular. It is probably not far from the truth if we say that they are one of the greatest wonders of the world created by man. Since we have a full day’s sailing towards Venice, the river holds the river, the early hour is the golden hour. Despite possible sleepiness, the early morning departure will enchant us with the pure colors of the sky, sea, hills and coastal towns.
When the sun is high enough and the thermal wind called Maestral starts blowing from the north-west, we will raise the sails and continue sailing towards the Italian coast in calm with a moderate wind. With a bit of luck, dolphins will cheer us on the way. We will stop halfway for a ritual bath while crossing the middle of the Adriatic Sea. We will pass the time in your favorite ways; besides sailing, with sunbathing, board games, telling stories, cooking or simply meditating. We will arrive before Venice (according to our sailing speed – which depends on the weather conditions) in the afternoon. Entering the Venetian lagoon is a first-class and unforgettable experience. The late afternoon colors of the surroundings will awaken in us fairy-tale feelings. We will need about another hour to sail along the canal to one of the marinas. The next day is non sailing day. It’s time to get lost in the city. The third day is early start due to long distance to sail.

Brioni islands can be described in 1000 and one way. From being a botanical surplus to being a favorite haunt of our former Head of State. Despite a pale shadow of the old glory and exclusivity, you can still capture the spirit of those times. Being islands, they can only be reached by the sea.

Starting from home harbour we sail the whole day along Istrian penisnula coast, passing Umag, Novigrad, Poreč, Vrsar and Rovinj. Since there is no pleasant anchorages we find a berth for the night in one of the marinas next to the cities. The best is definitely Rovinj* due to its short distance to our final destination (just under two hours) which we want to reach in the morning of the next day. With its Roman amphitheater as its biggest attraction an interesting alternative could be Pula too.

We stay in harbour of Brioni islands till the next day noon and after lunch we untie the ropes and head towards home port.

During the stay you can  enjoy end explore the island by foot, by bike, by road train or by golf cart. You can play golf too.

Let it be said enough.
